Privacy Policy
Effective 1 October 2026
Speaker Cleaner ("the app") is developed by Eren Talan ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the app handles and why. The short version: your recordings and cleaning history stay on your device, we do not run ads, and we do not collect an advertising identifier. The app does send usage statistics — which features are used — and you can switch that off in Settings at any time.
Microphone audio
The Pro "Speaker Health Measurement" feature uses your microphone to record a short before/after sample when you run a cleaning cycle. That audio is analysed on your device — frequency analysis and a health score are computed locally. The recording is never uploaded, transmitted, or stored outside your device. Microphone access is only requested when you start a measurement, and only for the duration of that measurement.
What is stored on your device
The app keeps a local history of your cleaning runs (mode, timestamp, and measured health score where applicable) so it can show streaks and trends. This data lives in a local database on your device. There is no cloud sync in the current version, and it is deleted if you uninstall the app.
Account and personal information
No account or sign-in is required to use the app. We do not collect your name, email address, or contact list. The only data that leaves your device is the usage statistics and the subscription check described below, and neither carries your name or contact details.
Usage statistics
To learn which features people actually use and which ones lead them to Pro, the app uses Google Analytics for Firebase, provided by Google. It is on by default and records:
- which screens are opened and which features are used — for example a water or dust clean, the stereo test, a measurement, the manual tone, a settings change — along with simple details such as the cleaning mode, the speaker route and whether a run finished, was cancelled or failed;
- when the Pro screen is shown, what led to it, which plan is selected, and whether a purchase completed or was cancelled. Google Play purchase events (product, price and currency) are also recorded automatically by the Analytics SDK;
- technical context the SDK adds to every event: app version, Android version, device model, app language, and a country, region and city derived from your IP address, which Google does not store;
- a random app-instance identifier created on install, so visits can be counted without knowing who you are.
It does not record microphone audio — a measurement is reported only as its 0–100 score — nor your name, email, contacts, precise location or advertising identifier: advertising-ID collection, Android-ID collection and every advertising consent type are switched off in the app, and the advertising-ID permission is removed from it. Google processes this data on our behalf; see how Google uses information from apps that use its services. Event-level data is kept for two months, after which only aggregated reports remain.
The app also sends a one-word notice — "installed", "Pro screen opened" — to a small server we operate on Cloudflare, which relays it to a private Telegram chat so we see those moments as they happen. It carries no identifier from the app — the server, like any other, sees the IP address the request comes from — and it is controlled by the same switch.
Switching it off: open Settings, scroll to Privacy at the bottom and turn off Share usage statistics. From that moment the app stops sending usage statistics and the Cloudflare notices, and the analytics identifier stored on your device is reset.
Purchases and subscriptions
Pro is offered as a subscription, billed and processed by Google Play. We never see your payment details. Subscription status is managed through RevenueCat, a third-party subscription platform, which receives an anonymous device/app identifier to determine whether your device holds an active entitlement, together with your purchase history so that Pro can be restored. RevenueCat's SDK includes a library that is capable of collecting an advertising identifier for attribution — the app never calls the method that would activate that, and no advertising identifier is collected. You can review RevenueCat's own privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Advertising
The app shows no ads, in the free tier or in Pro, and integrates no ad network or ad SDK. Usage statistics are never used for advertising or shared with advertisers.
Permissions the app requests
- Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO) — used only for the on-device before/after measurement described above.
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) — used for optional cleaning reminders. You can decline this and use the app normally.
- Vibration (VIBRATE) — used for haptic feedback synced to cleaning tones. This permission does not involve any data collection.
Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The usage statistics described above identify an installation, not a person.
Data retention and deletion
Measurement audio is never stored, and cleaning history stays on your device: clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it deletes both. Usage statistics are kept by Google Analytics for two months at event level; turning off Share usage statistics stops new ones and resets the identifier they were tied to. Subscription records are kept by RevenueCat and Google Play for as long as they are needed to honour your purchase.
To ask for data linked to your installation or subscription to be deleted, email merentalan@gmail.com. Because we hold nothing that names you, please include your Google Play order number if you have a subscription.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
